PLAY: LIKE MOTHER LIKE DAUGHTER (2017)

SYNOPSIS:

This rib-tickling comic-drama takes you through the lives of a unique Mother-Daughter duo, who belie the conventional Mother-Daughter relationship. A kind of role reversal where the Mother defies all the conventional stereotypes of a typical Indian Mother and who refuses to be called ‘Aunty’. One who would often be found a wee-bit tipsy when the vodka gets a bit too much, loves to dance to the gyrating beats of a Bollywood item number, has a tongue which tends to adore the Punjabi slang in moments of excitement and who seems more easy with her sexuality than her own workaholic young daughter. Her daughter meanwhile deals with her own demons and has a tongue as sharp as a knife, leaving much desired in the relationship between the two. Buried beneath this unconventional relationship, lies a truth that has haunted them both all their lives. A truth held back for 19 years. An emotional roller coaster of compete madness, dance, drama and of life coming full-circle.
